Osmel, a native of Miami, had come from China and, due to the flu symptoms, decided to go to the hospital to do the screening.
The man returned from a work trip in January and started to have some symptoms that could indicate he had been infected with coronavirus.
According to the Miami Herald, the man went to a Florida hospital to undergo screening tests.
The tests revealed that Osmel Azcue only had a regular flu.
Later, the man received a medical bill of about 3,200 euros.
Health insurance does not cover all medical expenses, so you will have to pay an amount of 1,280 euros.
In addition, the patient will have to give the insurance company three years of medical records to prove that the flu was just a flu. “How do they expect normal citizens to contribute to eliminating the potential risk of spreading from person to person, if hospitals charge for a simple blood test and a nasal test?”, said the man.
