Trump turns his back on a virtual debate

President of the United States considers the solution found to minimize the risk of contagion “ridiculous”.

The next US presidential debate would take place, for the first time, in a different format, the Presidential Debate Commission announced this Thursday.

In the context of the pandemic crisis, the organization decided that the debate would take place by videoconference, in order to minimize the risk of contagion among those present, a solution to which the current President of the United States has already opposed, by refusing to participate in the debate.

“I am not going to have a virtual debate. I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate”, said Trump.

In the words of the Republican, “a debate cannot be this [in a remote model]. This is sitting in front of a computer and debating, it is ridiculous”.

The American tycoon looks at the security measure as a way to “protect Biden”, accusing the debate committee of trying to benefit the Democratic White House candidate.
