Former President of Pakistan is sentenced to death

Pervez Musharraf, exiled in Dubai, was sentenced to death for committing “high treason”.

“A special court of three judges sentenced Pervez Musharraf to death. The court stated that Pervez had committed high treason,” said the lawyer of former Pakistani head of state Azhar Siddique.

The conviction refers to the decision the former president made on November 3rd, 2007, when he imposed a state of emergency in the country and suspended the constitutional order.
