Aircraft crashed in Taliban-controlled territory.
A passenger plane from Ariana Afghan Airlines crashed today in Deh Yak, district of Ghazni province, Afghanistan. “At about 1:10 (08:40 GMT) a plane crashed in Deh Yak, a district in Ghazni province.
The plane is on fire and the local population is trying to put out the fire, ”a spokesman for the governor of Ghazni told AFP.
According to the Afghan news channel TOLOnews, the aircraft will have crashed in Taliban-controlled territory.
The device made the connection between the cities of Herat and Kabul.
The number of people on board has yet to be confirmed but Reuters is already giving a number: 83 people.
Technical problems are suspected to have been at the origin of the accident.
