Newborns Wear Face Shields in Brazil

This measure was imposed by a Brazilian maternity hospital to avoid any type of contamination.

The Regional Hospital of Asa Norte, in Brasília, decided to start putting face shields on newborns, children of mothers diagnosed with the new coronavirus or with suspicion of having been infected.

The measure was adopted because of the increase in the number of new cases of Covid-19 in Brazil.

All the equipment is produced by the hospital itself and designed so as not to hurt the little ones. In addition to the masks, the hospital made a point of taking more measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

For example, when pregnant women arrive at the maternity hospital, they are immediately tested and, when they test positive, they are hospitalized. If they test negative, they are transported to another hospital.
